JobsPlus is an incentive funded by the Government of Ireland to award JobsPlus approved Employers who recruit an unemployed person.
Are you aware that you may be eligible for this financial incentive if you hire candidates who are unemployed and approved to participate in the JobsPlus programme?
Seetec works with hundreds of local employers to find suitable employees because we believe in building communities through employment. A variety of complimentary services are offered by our committed Employer Services team, including pre-screening, interview coaching, and even in-work support for both employers and candidates.
There are two grants available to employers, €7,500 or €10,000 which is paid in monthly instalments over two years. The level of grant awarded to an Employer depends on the age of your prospective employee and the length of time they have received a qualifying social welfare payment.
Since January 2023:
- Scheme eligibility is being extended to Disability Allowance and Blind Pension recipients.
- The higher level of JobsPlus grant, €10,000 over 2 years, will be paid to an employer who recruits a jobseeker who is a Traveller, or of Roma ethnicity.
- The higher level of grant will be paid to an employer who recruits a jobseeker who has a recent criminal record or a history of addiction (within the previous 5 years).
Employers who wish to apply for JobsPlus should complete the JobsPlus Online Application for Employers for eligibility assessment by the JobsPlus processing team. Once approved to participate in the JobsPlus scheme, an employer may commence recruitment.
Our Employer Services Consultants at Seetec can help you identify suitable employees who are eligible for the scheme.
If you already have an employee in mind, you should advise them to apply online for JobsPlus at www.jobsplus.ie . If they are approved for JobsPlus, an approval letter will be issued to them accompanied by a form called a JP1. The JP1 must be completed by both the employee and employer and returned to the JobsPlus Payments Team, Department of Social Protection, Shannon Lodge, Carrick On Shannon, Co. Leitrim N41KD81.
When the JobsPlus payments team reviews the application, they will issue an email notifying the employer whether or not they have been granted the incentive for the employee listed on the JP1 form once all requirements have been met.
All applicants should notify their Seetec Employment Advisor or Employer Services Consultant if they receive an offer of employment. At this point, it is important to notify the Department of Social Protection to close off their Jobseekers claim before commencing full-time employment.
